Before emerging as a solo artist, Mike Doughty was best known as the front man of the group Soul Coughing. In 2005, Doughty released his first solo effort to feature, Haughty Melodic, which contained studio versions of several songs from earlier solo albums. Dave Matthews himself brought the record to the label (and appears on the track "Tremendous Brunettes"). The vinyl has been out of print, but now it has been re-mastered by ATO Records and Mike Doughty, and re-released with some extra music.
